Can I bring cut flowers into the UK from Holland?

August 17th, 2009

Yes you can.
So long as the bouquet is…
no more than 50 stems,
shows no sign of disease or any bugs,
is carried as part of your ordinary baggage, and
is intended for personal use rather than trade (hence the limited number of stems) it’s fine.
You’re even allowed to bring in a bunch of cut flowers from outside the EU (subject to the same limits).

If you’d like to check it for yourself, here’s the government factsheet on personal imports of plant material from DEFRA: http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/illegali/pdf/personal_plants.pdf

You should contact HM customs office. This site may help you find an answer or at least a phone number.

I don’t see why not but you will only know for sure once you are at the airport, everything is changing day by day, you can-only but try.
