mmmm, love this … mmmm, love this song, dunno why but for some reason always makes me think of the Robert Rankin book series The Brentford Trillogy…. strange, anyways, awsome song =)
I cant be bothered … I cant be bothered reading every post, but Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne went on to form the Elecrtric Light Orchestra, and Roy Wood left that band to form Wizzard.

They don’t sound that different from the Byrds in the ‘folksy pop style’ that ‘never really translated well in the states’. I don’t mean they sound exactly the same, but you could quite easily hear them side by side on the radio.
Then, or now.
By the way, their sound was pretty f****ing great at the time.
It was probably more to do with the manager not coming up with enough ‘payola’ to get them on US radio lol

For you youngsters – These guys did Do Ya, which became a big hit for ELO a few years later. Jeff Lynne was in both groups.
